RetInnovate Pitch Competition – £25,000 Prize Terms & Conditions
1. Overview. The £25,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of the RetInnovate Pitch Competition, held online during the week commencing 8th December 2025. The prize is in the form of a voucher redeemable against the cost of one preclinical study or project with MediNect Bioservices Ltd ("MediNect").
2. Eligibility. The competition is open to companies or teams developing therapeutic or related biomedical innovations, including those at the concept, preclinical, translational, or early clinical stages. Entrants must be legally registered entities, or affiliated with a legally registered entity, and must agree to:-

Participate in the online pitch event during the week commencing 8th December 2025

Engage in follow-up communication if selected as the winner
3. Judging Criteria. Pitches will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges with experience across investment, pharma, and biotech. The judging panel will assess entries based on several criteria relating to invest-ability, including:

Scientific and technical merit of the concept

Size and attractiveness of the addressable market

Route to market and development feasibility
The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Feedback will be given to each entry with pointers to improve. The criteria will not be based on how advanced the technology/company is.
4. Prize Details. The prize is a £25,000 service credit (the "Voucher") to be applied exclusively towards the cost of one preclinical project or study delivered by MediNect Bioservices Ltd at a minimum cost of £32,000.
The Voucher:

Cannot be exchanged for cash

Cannot be split across multiple projects

Cannot be transferred to another company or third party

Must be used within 12 months of the award date
The value will be applied against a mutually agreed scope of work defined under a separate project agreement with MediNect. Any project costs exceeding the voucher value will be the responsibility of the winner.
5. Intellectual Property All intellectual property (IP) generated as part of the pitched project remains solely with the winning company. Participation in the competition and use of the voucher does not transfer, assign, or otherwise affect any existing or future IP rights held by the winner.
6. Publicity and Promotion The winning team may be announced publicly by RetInnovate and MediNect, including name, logo, and non-confidential summary of the project/pitch with the agreement from the winning innovator/company. Winners may be asked to participate in promotional activity related to the award (e.g., press release, testimonial, follow-up interview).
7. General Conditions MediNect reserves the right to reject any scope of work that falls outside its service capabilities or regulatory constraints. RetInnovate and MediNect shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or delay resulting from force majeure or factors beyond their control. RetInnovate reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice, provided the core value and intent of the prize remains unchanged.
